Planning and Building Content Websites with WordPress

Man with laptop - Building WordPress sites

I plan and build dynamic content websites that support your marketing goals, facilitate sales and service processes, improve organic visibility (SEO/AIO), are easy to manage, and remain flexible as your needs evolve

Why WordPress?

The numbers speak for themselves: 43% of all websites worldwide are built with WordPress, as are 64% of websites that use an identifiable content management system (CMS). This long-standing and stable dominance is based on clear advantages:

  • Free, open-source licensing
  • Developer-friendly architecture
  • A large community of developers and designers
  • Maximum flexibility for your goals, including design flexibility
  • Strong support for organic visibility and SEO/AIO
  • Easy operation and management
  • A large pool of experienced content editors
  • Full portability—the code belongs to you
  • A continuously evolving platform
  • Support for application-driven solutions

WordPress – the recommended platform for your website

A business website serves as the central hub for its content marketing ecosystem

Your website is where customers find the information they need to make decisions, where content distributed through social media and newsletters originates, where campaign landing pages are hosted, and where communication and measurement tools operate.
Yes, even in the age of AI.

The Need

An effective engine for continuously acquiring new customers and nurturing existing ones.

The Tool

A well-planned, intelligently designed, and properly built WordPress content website.

That is what I do: plan, build, and manage smart, efficient content websites using WordPress – the world’s go-to CMS.

A WordPress Website Built Around Your Goals

What kind of website do you need? The range of possibilities is broad, but the basic need shared by almost every B2B or B2C business is an efficient “content engine” – usually a standalone content website or the content layer of a web application.

WordPress is a platform that can do almost anything, at a pace that suits you. It can grow from a one-page website into a large-scale marketing portal and can be adapted at any time to changing marketing and service needs.
It all depends on planning and architecture – not on how the website looks, but on how it works.

The starting point, for both short-term and long-term planning, is ensuring your content supports your marketing goals: information about your business, products, services, and advantages. This includes content that addresses common dilemmas, eases concerns, explains practical value, and demonstrates benefits.

Once I understand these two elements – your goals and your content – I can begin planning and specifying your website and shaping its design. Every element should support the achievement of your goals, both now and in the future. The website should make it easy to deliver relevant content to prospects and existing customers and to create engaging, results-driven customer journeys with minimal effort.

WordPress Project Stages

  1. Project kickoff meeting
  2. Understanding the marketing strategy and the sales and service processes
  3. Reviewing the existing content and the content strategy
  4. Detailed website specification – architecture, navigation, templates, and processes
  5. Milestone: approval of the website specification
  6. Selection of a design direction
  7. Milestone: design approval
  8. Website development – framework, templates, and components
  9. Milestone: client handover – the website is ready for content population
  10. Training for the website team
  11. Content population (optional)
When a project requires an application-driven website that integrates with information systems, I involve a professional development partner.

Basic Components of a WordPress Website

The following list is illustrative:

  • Content taxonomy – categories, tags, and classifications
  • Navigation and brand identity framework—header and footer menus and other navigation tools
  • Display templates for different content types
  • Dynamic homepage
  • About page or company profile
  • FAQ module
  • Article library or blog
  • Landing page module
  • Contact page

Configuration

  • WordPress infrastructure on a suitable hosting server with a cPanel management interface
  • Elementor Pro page builder
  • Hello Elementor theme with a child theme
  • A design system tailored to the brand, including colors, fonts, and other visual guidelines
  • Selected WordPress plugins based on project requirements
  • Landing pages
  • Online forms
  • A Gmail account for Google Analytics and Search Console
The recommended configuration provides maximum flexibility for future requirements, including new modules, services, integrations, content types, and design changes. With this configuration, websites can be designed with very few practical limitations.

Design and Visual Appearance

During the website setup stage, you can choose between two design approaches:

  1. A complete custom design, including detailed specifications for individual pages where needed, supplied by a web designer of your choice. Under this approach, I provide the designer with initial guidance and ongoing professional support.
  2. A classic, attractive, and elegant website design, with visual variety created through color settings and the use of images. In practice, this is a design system tailored to the needs of the brand. The design can later be refined as part of the ongoing service or as a separate project while the website is live. In my experience, most websites do not require additional design work, apart from a small number of specific pages, such as the company profile.
I recommend the second approach because it is faster and more cost-effective without compromising visual quality.

What Have I Already Done? Examples of WordPress Projects

I have led the planning and development of complex websites since the early days of the internet in the 1990s. Websites for Bank Leumi, Cellcom, Ness Technologies, and Playsis were among the pioneering projects that established standards for website planning and development that remain relevant today.

In recent years, through RMCM, I have applied my website development knowledge and experience to projects for content clients, with a focus on WordPress-based solutions.
